Reconnected. At last. Since moving out of my hotel it has taken some time and patience to get reconnected. So the first post in a while. It's probably Day 16 or something. Old Toulouse has blocks and blocks of flats with centre courtyards which for the most part remain invisible. You can get a glimpse once in a while when someone opens the gate for whatever reason. But wow. Some of these oases are truly amazing. Wouldn't you want to go inside?
Second photo shows a nightclub. Not sure I'd want to go in. This was taken more or less to show HS that they do exist in fact! I am going to take some more shots of nightclubs. There are some floating ones-- on converted houseboats-- with names like Kargo.
Last weekend I had dinner with a French family. Quite nice. we had Raclettes-- spelling unsure-- which is a kind of apres-ski dish involving cheese, potatoes and wine. I also drove their car that day which was quite an experience-- those roundabouts are wild.
As Mehitable would say, toujours gai, kid, toujours gai en Toulouse.

Hey, good to see you back!
We thought perhaps you had been abducted by a gargoyle.
I couldn't help but think that someone trapped inside the courtyard might be yearning to get outside!
Thanks for the nightclub poster pics. I noticed one is advertising DIRT dancing. Hmmm.
The LRC Starbucks gang has discovered a new coffee drink.
An Americano, which is an expresso shot topped/diluted with hot water to approach a typical serving size.
It's a very smooth alternative to a regular coffee. Wondered if these are available there or if they'd be considered a Western aberration.
