Chez nous et notre voyage à Carcasonne

Margaret says: It's been awhile since our last entry. We were busy finalizing the details on our new (actually, it's quite old) abode. It's not easy finding a place that's furnished and short-term. We like the location - it's right across from the St. Sernin cathedral, and it's pretty central to shops etc. Not very much furniture however, we're still waiting on a sofa, hopefully it'll come this week. There is a garden when you come through the front gate. Already there are flowers blooming ( orange blossoms, daffodils, one cyclamen). Nick is sitting beside me and getting bored of my ramblings, and my frequent mistakes on the French keyboard! Nick says: Carcasonne is a very interesting city because there's the outer ( newer) city and the old city within the castle walls whose population is only 120. When we were in the castle we saw some quite nice views of the surrounding city from the ramparts. The castle came under seige during a battle between the Cathars and the King's army. Guess who won? yeah, the king.

Carcasonne looks interesting. Glad to see that you've found a place to live. It's quite far from Toulouse though, isn't it? Does that mean Hans has had to change his working arrangements?
